COMING HOME TO THE BODy
A 12-WEEK INTIMATE GROUP JOURNEY INTO EMBODIED PRESENCE AND SOMATIC FOUNDATIONS
for all bodies
Coming Home to the Body is a virtual, live somatic journey for those who are ready to go beyond living from their head and experience the full capacity and intelligence of the body, through sensation, nervous system awareness, emotional alchemy, and creative expression.
Over twelve weeks, you will learn to orient to your body's intelligence, work with your nervous system rather than against it, move through emotion rather than store it, meet the patterns that have shaped you with compassion rather than judgment, discover what it means to create from the inside out, and be genuinely witnessed, and to witness others, in the fullness of what is true.

Each week, we meet live in a small, intimate group to move, breathe, listen, and explore together. The teaching is experiential. The learning happens in the body, not just the mind. You don't need prior experience with somatic work, just a willingness to slow down, to feel, and to trust that your body has something worth hearing. And if you are already exploring somatic practice, this course offers an opportunity to go deeper: to refine your felt sense, integrate what you've touched but not yet fully inhabited, and bring greater coherence to a practice that is already alive in you.
By the end, you won't just know more about your body. You will have a living relationship with it.

FOR ALL BODIES
This space is for people who sense that living primarily from the mind is no longer enough; who are longing for a more grounded, regulated, and intimate relationship with themselves. It’s for those navigating transition, burnout, creative block, grief, leadership, healing, or simply the recognition that something essential feels disconnected.
This course is especially supportive for therapists, facilitators, leaders, artists, and caregivers — anyone who holds space for others and wants to deepen their own embodied capacity — as well as individuals who are new to somatic work and seeking a gentle, structured way to begin.

There are no prerequisites or expectation to be “good” at this; the only requirement is that you arrive with an open heart and a willingness to meet yourself, and others, with curiosity and compassion.
THE 12-WEEK ARC
This course moves through a deliberate progression, from arriving in the body, to understanding how it regulates, to working with what it holds, to expressing what it carries, and finally, to bringing all of it into contact with the world around you. We will come together for 10 live sessions, and have 2 integration weeks, over the course of 12 weeks.
I. Arriving: The Body as Home
Orientation · Safety · Arriving
We begin where all somatic work begins: with the simple, radical act of arriving in your body. We will explore foundational practices (e.g. body scans, breathwork, finding the midline, identifying a somatic resource) that will accompany you through the entire journey. We will orient to the body not as a problem to be solved but as a living intelligence we are learning to listen to. We also begin the slower, more tender work of arriving together, landing into this shared space with care, allowing safety and trust to build at their own pace, so that the ground between us becomes as real as the ground beneath us.
II. Roots and Rhythms: Deepening into the Body's Ground
Grounding · Rhythm · The Felt Sense
Before we can work with complexity, we need to know what genuine ground feels like. This session goes deeper into the body's relationship with earth, breath, and rhythm, learning to distinguish real settling from numbness; true rootedness from bracing. We slow everything down and begin to develop an intimate relationship with the body's own timing.
III. The Nervous System: Learning Your Patterns
Awareness · Self-Regulation · Capacity
Transformation isn't a matter of willpower, it's a matter of nervous system capacity. This session maps the landscape of our nervous system states — freeze, fight, flight, fawn, and the ventral vagal state of regulated aliveness — and begins to teach us how to recognize where we are, resource ourselves back to presence, and understand how our chronic patterns have been shaping daily life without our knowing.
IV. Sensation as Language: Listening Deeper
Presence · Attunement · The Body as Emotional Messenger
The body speaks in sensation long before it speaks in words. And beneath sensation, emotion is always present. This session develops the practice of somatic listening: learning to be with what is rather than seeking or avoiding it. We begin to develop a felt vocabulary for the emotional landscape, meeting grief, anger, joy, longing, shame, and aliveness not as concepts but as felt experiences in the body that communicate needs and important information.
V. Emotion as Intelligence: Moving What Wants to Move
Emotional Alchemy · Somatic Expression · Release
Having learned to be with emotion, we now go deeper into what happens when we stop containing it and allow it to move. Emotions are not problems or "too much." They are energy seeking expression and meaning. This session introduces the practice of moving with emotion somatically: following its impulse through the body, giving it sound, gesture, breath, and form. We discover what becomes available when emotion completes its natural arc rather than being interrupted.
VI. Protectors and Patterns: Meeting What Gets in the Way
Somatic Shadow · Self-Compassion · Integration
Every body carries the imprint of its history through posture, holding patterns, chronic tension, and the parts of ourselves we've learned to perform or suppress. This session turns toward those patterns with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. We will begin to understand the protective strategies we developed to survive, how they have taken shape, and explore a new relationship with them. The goal is not elimination, but rather understanding and transformation.
VII. The Body as Creative Source: Making from the Inside Out
Embodied Creativity · Somatic Impulse · Expression as Truth-Telling
What if the creative impulse doesn't begin in the mind? We'll explore the potential that it begins in the body. This session opens the territory where somatic practice and creative expression meet, exploring what becomes possible when we stop creating from concept and begin creating from sensation and emotion. Through movement, sound, writing, and image, we follow the body's own intelligence toward form. The invitation is not to make good art, but to discover what the body has been trying to say, and then making it visible, heard, and felt to others as an opening for deeper connection.
VIII. Being Seen: Sharing, Witnessing, and the Alchemy of Presence
Vulnerability · Witnessing · The Relational Dimension of Expression
We all need to be seen and witnessed. Often, old wounding is fully resolved when it is revealed and tended in the presence of another. This session is devoted to the practice of sharing what emerged in Week 7 and being genuinely received in it. We explore what arises in the body when we are seen -- the vulnerability, the aliveness, the urge to collapse or deflect -- and practice staying in the fullness of being known. The practice is as much in the witnessing as in the sharing.
IX. Embodied Presence in the World: Nature, Relationship, and Living from the Body
Nature as Teacher · Presence in Daily Life
Presence is something we practice in connection with the Earth, the living world, and the people we love and work alongside. This session moves outdoors for a guided nature immersion, working with the natural world as a somatic teacher. We close by asking: what becomes possible in your work, your creativity, your relationships, when you bring this ground into the everyday?
X-XI. INTEGRATION
Embodiment · The Work in Motion
These two weeks belong to you. There are no live sessions, but instead an invitation to bring everything you've been practicing into the texture of your daily life. To notice what has shifted in how you wake up, how you move through difficulty, how you create, how you listen, how you inhabit a room. Guided prompts and somatic invitations will be offered to support your integration, but the primary practice is simply this: living from what you've learned. Letting the body lead. Trusting what has been planted to take root in its own time.
XII. Coming Home: the Practice of a Lifetime
Continuity
The final session is a space for us to weave together everything that has unfolded, identifying the practices that most reliably return you to yourself and designing a simple daily rhythm that you can carry forward. We close with a group threshold ritual: marking a deepening commitment to living from the body as an ongoing, lifelong practice.
